The Kangaroo & Company stamp set is new for the Spring of 2021. It is very versatile as it can be used for birthday, baby, thank you or even a valentine’s cards. I needed a baby card so I came up with this card. Since the baby will be a girl I used Highland Heather but Pool Party or Seaside Spray could be used for a boy card. For a gender neutral card you could use Pear Pizzazz.

I used a piece of Highland Heather card stock cut to 5-1/2 X 8-1/2 and scored at 4-1/4. The card front is a 4 X 5-1/4 piece of Subtles Designer Series Paper. For the card liner I used a 4 X 5-1/4 piece of Whisper White Card stock. I stamped the kangaroo mom with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and cut her out using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. I then stamped and cut out the small kangaroo using the Layering Circles Dies. I cut out a scalloped Highland Heather circle also using the Layering Circles Dies. I stamped and “fussy” cut the envelope and the small kangaroo head from a scrap of Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped the sentiment using Highland Heather ink on the large hexagon. I colored all of the Kangaroos using Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Dark Highland Heather and Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends markers.

To assemble this card I used a knife to cut a slit where the baby kangaroo fits in mom’s pouch. I then put a Mini Dimensional behind the baby’s head. I tied a bow using a piece of Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around the card front. I adhered the large hexagon to the right side of the card front. I adhered the scalloped mat to the small circle then adhered the envelope to the small kangaroos paws. I adhered that assembly to the card front using Dimensionals. Don’t forget to stamp the liner and the envelope!

Tips and Tricks: Dimensionals can be used under all or part of a piece added to a card. In this case I wanted to give the baby kangaroo a little dimension so I popped up his head only. The small kangaroo with the envelope was the other focal point of the card so I popped the whole assembly up.

For the card front I cut the snowflake hexagon out of the center of the Night of Navy hexagon using the So Many Snowflake Dies. Tips and Tricks: I used 2 pieces of washi tape rolled on its self on the front of the inside hexagon. Temporarily adhere the front of the inside hexagon to the back of the outside hexagon. Put adhesive on the back of the inside hexagon. Close the card (with the right flap open) to adhere the inside hexagon to the inside of the card.
